Visit to Womenzone Bradford – April 26th 2016
We visited the Bradford Womenzone Community Centre with Clive Whitaker of Bradford Community and Voluntary Service. They showed us their impressive gym facilities, and we talked to some of the many ladies who had come to the centre for lunch. I gave them a short history of the office of High Sheriff.

RNLI Fund Raising Concert Otley – April 9th 2016
The West Yorkshire Branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution staged a concert at Otley Parish Church featuring the King’s Men. The King’s Men is the close harmony group formed from the Choral Scholars of the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge.The event was very well attended, the performance was excellent, and over £4,500 was raised for the RNLI.

Bradford Disability Sport & Leisure Awards Night – April 6th 2016
I attended a dinner and awards night with Bradford Disability Sport & Leisure, the dinner being in memory of Sajid Sabir. BDSL is the charity responsible for delivering programmes and support to disabled sport and sportspeople in the Bradford area, and provides one of the best services of this kind to be found anywhere in the country.
